This was my closest option when visiting/staying in downtown Houston. Stopped in on a Monday late morning and it was what I would consider busy (had to wait for equipment). Other than that, it's a standard LA layout, plenty of cardio options, although the dumbbells only go to 100 lbs, when other franchise sites go to 125 lbs. What earned a 3 star was simply availability of towels and/or wipes to clean up after yourself. 3 out of 3 on the main floor were empty for my 2 hour stay which means dozens of people were unable to wipe down any equipment. Not good.

I am rating 5 stars given the value that I receive for my dollar. Clean and well maintained machines / TVs. The real value is in the classes - no charge. The instructors (Eva - water aerobics, Sarah - yoga) all want their students to learn and progress. I mention two instructors by name but ALL of the instructors are good. The gym staff is attentive to issues & know their clients by name. Parking is very good with a mobile security guard. My only suggestion for improvement - the men's locker area would benefit from more frequent housekeeping attention. Gritty floors, litter, & hairballs in the sinks by 11 a.m. Overall the gym smells & looks clean. Outstanding value for members.

Been working out here for a few years. Always a good time. The team members are very nice. Especially Stella, she’s exceptional! She goes above and beyond! Well the whole team there does. I also love all of the extra access to other activities they have here at this LA fitness. I’ll always come here to workout 🫡👍💪

I’ve been coming to this location for a few months now and by far it’s my favorite one in the city! The staff is always attentive and helpful whenever I’m there. Dakota and Aldo are my go two guys! I do PRT here and since starting they both keep me encouraged and accountable of my goals! It’s hard sometimes to try to stay on top of my health and daily exercises with my crazy schedule, but they never make me feel bad when I’m not doing my best, instead they continue to push me forward and that type of support is rare yet beyond appreciated! If you’re looking for a gym community that cares and will keep you on track, this is the location!

The music, ugh!
The staff is always nice and professional. The place is always clean. The members mostly clean up after their sweat on the machines. The bathrooms/locker rooms are always in nice shape. The only thing, is that brainless pop music. It used to be a decent mix between classic rock and pop, but now it seems to be mainly crap for young teenagers. Oh, and signage would be helpful, “Please do not make others wait for workout stations while using your phone”.
…LA Fitness staff, please, look at your demographic. Its not just a bunch of young brainless kids. Change the music.
